Whatever happened to the Bill of Rights?
Amendment VI In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.Amendment VIII Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
This story doesn't pass the initial "smell test". The guy's landlord "has been trying to get him to leave". Why is he still there?
All of the references in the article point to "evidence" that the person in jail was the one attacked. I bet that this is mostly B.S. and that the evidence points exactly the opposite.
While I cannot prove it from the lack of information in the article, the way that it is presented indicates to me that it is designed to muddy the water and portray the person arrested as "the victim", even though the facts may be exactly the opposite.
Does anyone else find it odd that an almost-homeless and poor "Mike" would:
1. Have a cellphone in the first place.
2. Somehow be able to dial his friend's number and tell him that he was under attack WHILE HE WAS UNDER ATTACK?
Something smells here, big time.
