Raiders fire head coach Callahan

The Oakland Raiders wasted little time in firing head coach Bill Callahan, who has been taking shots from players in the wake of a miserable 4-12 season.

A source inside the Raiders front office confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that the second-year coach was let go.

Tim Brown said he coached to get fired.

Possible candidates for the job include Art Shell, Denny Green, Jim Fassel and Jim Haslett.

Something like that .. Mike Tice is staying on for the Vikes and Dave Wannstedt is going to be around for another year with the Dolphins,, otherwise almost 1/3 of the coaches would be bounced .. and the season ain't over yet.
