Just talked to a friend here in a small town in South Carolina where we live. She is generally the most calm person, but she has told me she's more frightened now than ever before in her lifetime.

She is coming to our New Year's Eve party and although we play games, I've assured her we will keep the television on mute in the room where we will play.

I'll be very happy when we have gotten through New Year's; the target that presents itself in NYC is so visible and large. You aren't in NYC, I hope.
