When I was a kid in Indiana, we thought it would be fun to get a turkey a year ahead of time & feed it & so on for the following Christmas.
But by the time Christmas came around,we sort-of thought of the turkey as a pet...
--- so we ate the dog...
Only kidding! It was the cat

The A Christmas Story movie is a perennial. I love the newest movie tradition.......The Santa Clause with Tim Allen.

Christmas traditions? Well, it's a fairly recent one, but it's just not Christmas until I hear Aunt Bethany sing the Star-Spangled Banner!
For those of you who may not be familiar with the actress pictured above, that's the late Mae Questel. Her high, squeaky voice sounded oddly familiar, so I looked her up on the Internet Movie Database. She's got a list of acting credits that just scrolls and scrolls... and I found out why she sounded familiar. She was the voice of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl!
Look HERE for more entertaining frame captures from the movie - and one or two great animated images.
