I too suggest a .22 short, long, long rifle & or mag. These are light weight enough to carry a lot of they are cheap to buy, and are not watched by the feds a lot. Also you can get them just about anywhere. I have enough to sink a bass boat! The CIA used the .22 as a round to kill people with too. The round has been around in time since the early 1800's, so these are time tested too! You can also make a homemade firearm by using this round as well.

I carry a S & W titanium .357 magnum, far lighter and reliable than any auto loader, plus I use Speer gold dot ammo. This combo will out perform anything out there in a close quarter street scenario.

I also like .22's especially the long rifle round.

I think it is under-rated even by those who like it. I have seen my Father kill hogs and cows so many times with a .22. They literally drop like they were poleaxed.

I remember reading an article maybe 30 years ago by Russell Annabell in Sports Afield. He was an old Alaska Sourdough and was caught leading a couple of pack mules by a She Wolf and a bunch of her yearling pups. He sat down against his backpack and used his Colt Woodsman to shoot and kill several and the rest left.

He commented that they ought to build a monument to the .22, and I agree.

They really do kill and not just several days later like a lot of gun writers like to say. They will kill quickly if the shot is well placed.
