Rubbing peanut butter into chewing gum in hair breaks down the chewing gum. It would be worth a try and wouldn't damage your hair.

If that doesn't work, there's a citrus based stuff I buy at the hardware store that works when removing grease pencil, crayola, or chewing gum. It would be more harsh, I would think.

The p'nut butter worked! I put it on and then sprayed it with "detangler". Traaa-laaaa! No more sticky hair!
