.... Legally married or not, the couple seems to be falling into traditional husband and wife roles. Etheridge refers to Michaels as "my wife," and Michaels, who designed their wedding bouquets of hydrangeas and roses, says things like, "It is part of my life to make sure Melissa has what she needs . . . whatever she needs."
But the marriage has meant a multiplication of mommies for Bailey, 6, and Beckett, 5 - who spend alternate weeks with their biological mother, Julie Cypher, who was Etheridge's girlfriend for 12 years. Asked what the kids call Michaels, Etheridge says: "Well, she's Tammy - sometimes Mommy." Michaels: " 'Cause they have a Mommo and a Mama." Etheridge: "I'm Mama, or Mom. 'Mom' pretty much covers anybody and everybody." [Am I the only one here who wants to rescue these children?] The couple plans to "bring a child into the world together." No word on whether David Crosby would again provide DNA.
Michaels, an actress now playing a lesbian on the cable series "The L Word," is also an author of children's books. Etheridge is more interested in politics, and had to interrupt the interview to conduct a phone press conference supporting Howard Dean. [Quelle surprise!] (PageSix)

"She drives her staff like draft horses. Her style is much more in the Hillary Clinton mold than Laura Bush." full story
