A multicolored tapestry
a picture of humanity
of lives woven day by day
carrying pain along the way
some done in happy hours
some woven on the rack
and carried around on our back
like a dead weight sack of gloom
there ain't no sunlight in the room

Day and night become one
when comfort is the lesser light
and drinking tea alone at three
becomes the way to end the day
and long nights in cold beds
are really nothing to dread

Oh yeah that's why I get the blues.

Song and poem will come as soon as I can get to my computer.

I drive to work
alone
I sit in my office
alone
I function, I laugh, I smile
alone

Life seems the same.
The burden shifts.
Some days, it lets me breathe.
Some days, it clutches my throat
And my voice is choked by my tears.

Redemption seems so far away
The cold reaches inside me
Grabs, twists, crushes my joy
The mistake I made, I do not know
She never let me tell my side.

How many are like me?
Their faces blank like mine
Walking down the street, I gaze
And I wonder if their tapestry
Is as heavy as mine.
