Back in Fellowship, when they're climbing the slopes of Khazad-Dum, Frodo slips, and in the ensuing close-up of his feet, you can very clearly see where the furry hobbit foot is glued onto his leg.

I have the original theatrical release (Xena's Guy ripped it the first day it was out), and there is indeed a very visible car zooming to the right behind Frodo and Sam when they're in the field.

Unless I'm confused, when they're up in the mountains, Sam the pony isn't with them. When they're entering Moria, he reappears.
