Here is one of those big huge Labradors the field trial people are breeding. Belonged to a friend... He was a nice dog, but he scarcely resembled a Labrador. My Logan on the right, who was technically too big for the standard at 25 inches and 90 pounds was dwarfed by him. It is at this point that the breed needs to make a decision to create a new one and stop calling them the same dog.

Good God! That looks like a cross between a mastiff and a bloodhound! He's a monster (does he weight about 120?)
My Shelley-Dog would be insufferable at 90 pounds (she has her insufferable days even at 42-43 pounds!) She is just so full of energy and run. We kept her on the beach from about noon until dark the day after Christmas, and she was still full of get up and go - ran a very nice English Setter off his legs, retrieved logs of driftwood, swam in the ocean, chased seagulls . . . she did sleep very well that night, but at 8 a.m. the next day she was ready to go out and run around my parents' island looking for squirrels . . .

And Logan sure was a classic Lab, even if a bit on the big side. Was he as sweet as he looks? You sure must miss him.

create a new one and stop calling them the same dog. Wow, what a hugh dog. I agree totally that is not the breed. But, a 65-70 lb lab in field condition could not compete any more than that one could.

Logan was a beautiful lab.
