On my phone, if I have a number set up in my phone's address book (is that what they're called?) it will display the name that I attached to it rather than the actual caller ID. If you don't want to try blocking the number, try adding it to your phone's address list; then when he calls, it should display the name you gave it when you added it to the list, even is his caller ID is unavailable.
