The Hobbit Hole V - Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
ecurbh

Posted on 12/11/2003 2:07:57 PM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

We've got a couple more decent concerts coming up. Local artists, mostly, but good ones. Like I said before, the free concert deal is a VEY good benefit of working for the college.

We have a folkd show on Sunday afternoons, plus Fiona Ritchie's Thistle and Shamrock on Saturday evenings. I rarely catch them, unfortunately. But maybe it's a good thing...many of the CDs I've purchased over the last few years were a direct result of hearing songs on that show. Stan Rogers, Voice Squad, Solas...just a few of my "discoveries".

Think you're slick on the computer huh. It will take me some time to get it all down...unlike certain Graybearded people I have something to do besides sit on the computer all day. Maybe when I retire.....
Love Steve
P.S. You really should get out and get some exercise.

However, the police told us later that he didn't have one dog bite on his body. But, boy, people left our dogs alone after that!

I love that story! It's amazing how even a small barking dog can dissuade people from misdeeds too. I really prefer large dogs for myself but I do have to say that with Smeagol in the house if she hears anyone approaching the house she sets up a barking to wake the dead! If she's outside she won't bark, she cowers in a corner - but inside she sounds vicious!

Have you ever used a George Foreman grill?

I don't have one but several of my friends and family have them and they are really nice. Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Lynn use theirs often when I visit and it's cool!

Yes.
Especially when it garners a laugh of disbelief and general amusement.

They had seven trucks that were hit by RPG fire and none of them ignited. THey said it put a big hole in the tanker, but no fire. I was glad to hear that.

THAT is a relief to hear!!! I'll count that as answered prayer too!

You will have some magazines on the way Monday! Of course you won't see em for weeks and weeks but you'll know they're coming. What I have here now are mostly Hot Rod magazines and such. I will grab some newsy ones as well though.

Interesting the choice of magazines Steve asked for! Tom's guys wanted hunting, fishing, and sports magazines. The guys I'm sending stuff to in Afghanistan asked me for Hot Rod magazines. And Steve's guys want news. All different.... and yet I suspect all the topics would be welcomed by everyone.

Living alone like I (and you) do, I'm very happy to have a small dog that doesn't sound small. Though she does seem to bark more than our bigger dogs ever did...brat.

Yes, I like the barking too! I know that if anyone ever entered the house Smeagol would run and hide. But, *they* don't know that. And... if they enter the house... I can put my firearms to good use!

Fiona will bark even if someone comes in...unfortunately. It usually takes me a few minutes to convince her guests aren't here to steal the house or something.

Whatever you send I will forward....

I'm sure someone in a large group likes everything. And I know from Tom that the ones sent are shared with a lot of people. Not just the specific guys we send them to.

Smeagol doesn't bark when I let anyone in. She either hides - or begs for attention.
