Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

You're so dedicated! Answering the phone at all hours of the night the way you do! LOL

DON'T BUY RADIOS TO SEND TO A COMBAT ZONE... ESPECIALLY RADIOS THAT OPERATE IN AN UNSECURE MODE... I THINK IT'S A BAD IDEA...ESPECIALLY IN AN URBAN "POLICE" ROLE...I'm aware of that problem. I think the troops are, too. They seem to feel lack of secure commo is less of a problem than no commo at all. I'm here to grant them their wishes as best I can. Besides, these are Reserves, and may never get official secure radios anyway. I'm grateful they're not asking for body armor, or IR suppression for their helos.
And used properly, unsecure communications can make for some interesting sport. Announce that your convoy will be at the intersection of Saddam Ave. and Uday Blvd. at noon. Have your sniper teams in place by 0800, and see how long it takes to bag your limit.

'course not. Wouldn't be chivalrous, that.

I haven't gotten to the point in the movie where he does that!
Ecurbh fell asleep already and crabbed at me when I woke him. He obviously doesn't find the movie as stimulating as I do.

I'm fondly remembering the Greater Lincoln Park Pentacostal Temple that I attended when I was still living in San Antonio. Multiracial, unicultural --- united under God. And, oh my, but does the Spirit move there!
<grin> But it's not a very quiet place, oh, my, no! The choir sometimes makes the building shake, just a bit, enough for you to feel it in your feet. And as the Spirit starts to infuse the congregation, the people start to jump, and move, and dance in the aisles ...!
But restrained it isn't.

Seems we have a situation here where command directive meets hard cold reality.
The open channel radios would worry me, mainly because I've got an easily available Radio Shack type digital scanner (thanks Hair!) that can easily listen to all the freqs, plus analog cell phones... the works...
Seems to me that this nut ought'nt be that hard to crack. There ought to be a way to do this.
To: HairOfTheDog; g'nad
Actually, I don't think that's what g'nad meant...I'm off to bed... g'night all.

Hmm, yeah, mebbe so, but *you* cannot ruin my credit the way this Health Insurance Company has/does. I have called tech support on occasion, and, male or female, have never had complaints (with the exception of the telephone company regarding DSL and LINUX).
I get really tired of month after month getting "past due" and "final notice" nasty-grams from collection agencies in regards to the same old claims not having been processed by ~them~. COBRA is just a plain nightmare.
