The reality of warfare on a ship (Closing a hatch to save the ship -and killing 87 people) hit me quite hard.

I was surprised no one mentioned this - Archer or Janeway would have never made that kind of decision. Kirk would have made it without batting an eye, and Picard & Sisko would have had to think about a minute or so before making the same decision.

Ah, Voyager, the Pinnacle of PC'dness, I watched a grand total of 5 minutes of the first episode, realized it and she were garbage and have never watched another since. The least they could have done was make Janeway a Klingon female Captain, now that would have been watchable.
