I was always unclear as to why the real Baltar got any respect from the cylons. He was a wuss.

I think the new Baltar is not yet done betraying mankind. No way he should have stepped on that ship after seeing the cylon chickee-poo.

As to his motivations, it reminds me of a sort of Lex Luthor thing from Smallville. Was Lex always evil, or did things just turn out badly?
