Launched on October 19, 2003, russesjunjee cometh to do the hashed over Hitler comparison thing. Seems like its been done a half-dozen times since Terri threads started appearing on FR. YET, on the positive side, it is very worthy to regurgitate the connection a thousand times.

If I appear cynical at the moment, it's because I am. I just got hit-on again ( the third time ) by a combination Alan Keyes and Randall Terry email solicitation for a contribution for "saving Terri".

There's been a kind-of re-write of the original twice sent email fundraiser pitch. This time they acknowledge there has been and is now considerable activity by 'others' to 'save' Terri - without naming any org or individual effort. Further, after writing how Terry says he "....saved Terri....", he's included the caveat : "....(for now)....".

I am particularly offended that Johnny-come-lately claptrappers spout ideas and or actions in a fashion that would give the casual apathetic moronic nincompoop American Citizen the impression that an idea is novel or a public relations photo-op produced any change in the death sentence hanging over Terri. It did not, and novelity slants on how to bribe America into doing something for the protection of own kin ceased moons ago.

This quote comes to mind :

"If you believe everything you read, you better not read." -- Japanese Proverb

Venting exhausted. ;^)

I understand the fact that you are feeling a little worn out with Terri's situation. After all, its been going on for more than thirteen years. Its all a little overwhelming, but I'm just me...One Freeper who is worried about a fellow American.

Try not to think bad things about Terri because of the things you may see the rest of do. Most of Terri's supporters are just average citizens like myself, so we are going to make mistakes, like too much Hitler for example...LOL

Robert Drobot,

While I prefer not to presume upon your intentions
in posting that banality at #6, your choice of language
and the all too obvious logical flaws do suggest that
you are mostly interested in blowing hot air. You speak
of a "hashed over Hitler comparison thing." Are you
suggesting that social critcism that has not yet resulted
in desired remedies should be abandoned on pain of being
deemed "hashed over"? Perhaps the pre-Revolutionary War
orators should have been discredited for presenting the
hashed over theme of taxation without representation?

It is observant of you to notice that the Nazi eugenics
comparison has been "done a half-dozen times since Terri
threads started appearing on FR." Thank you for keeping
such meticulous track, but accounting is a rather minor
contribution to the issue. If that is all you have to
offer, consider yourself properly appreciated.

Allow those with a keener sense of deja vu to share
insights with one another with a view toward finding
ways to influence the repetition of history. The lack
of substance in your post betrays a deficit in grasping
what transpired in Germany between 1932 and 1945. Had
you devoted more attention to that subject, you would
also see the uncanny parallels between the public
indoctrination campaign by the so-called Dying with
Dignity ideologues and the propaganda efforts of Josef
Goebbels in selling the virtues of euthanasia to the
citizens of the Reich.

I am somewhat at a loss discerning the purport of your
statement "I am particularly offended that Johnny-come-
lately claptrappers spout ideas and or actions in a
fashion that would give the casual apathetic moronic
nincompoop American Citizen the impression that an idea
is novel or a public relations photo-op produced any
change in the death sentence hanging over Terri."

I can only guess that it has perhaps escaped you that,
while regarded as crucial and meritorious in its own
rights, Terri's case is merely one item in the discussion
of Nazi parallels to current policy drives. The fact that
those who are discussing it happen to also be staunch
supporters of Terri's right to live is merely incidental
to the subject. The Nazi comparison is not conjured up
as part of a strategy in obtaining justice for Terri. To
the contrary, the judicial and informational aberrations
in Terri's plight are one point in case in identifying the
ongoing American revival of Nazi Eugenics.

I do not fault you for your evident hankering after
novelty. By all means do classify the Nazi eugenics
discussion as lacking in novelty. You and 215 million
soundbite-smitten citizens may well have to wait until
you are admitted to candidacy for humane death before
you will extract novelty value from this topic. There
are numerous diversions to help you bide your time
until then. In that case however you would better
save your words for those things that catch your fancy.
As comments to this particular discussion they are
deplorably inadequate.
