Yes, I'm afraid Viggo is a vapid, brainless twit.

Unfortunately, JRD is becoming persona non grata with his cast members since he refused to wear the red ribbon on World AIDS Day and he nearly punched Andy Serkis for refusing to stand when Queen Elizabeth & GW were toasted at the BAFTA/LA awards. He also lectured Sir Ian (known as Sirinna to the cast) about using LOTR to promote his personal gay agenda. We suddenly found ourselves flying back from the NZ premiere on a flight with assorted orcs and goats.

My wife has developed the policy of trying to stay ignorant of the personal lives of artists whose work she enjoys, so that enjoyment won't be spoiled.

It's good that there are some few, like JRD, who are exceptions.

It's a pity there's such a disconnect with the others, so often. By all accounts I've heard and read, Mortensen is an actor's actor, in the sense that he's a hard worker, personally utterly dedicated and yet very much a team player. These are conservative qualities. LOTR is a conservative story, very much raising good over evil, and individual freedom/responsibility over totalitarian control. Shame that some who have so much to do with bring that story to life on the screen Just Don't Get It.

BTW, we're doing the Trilogy Tuesday bit. If you have any experienced pointers on how to survive sitting that long, they'd be welcome.
