Relocating from Atlanta to Kansas City, KS or MO, request FReeper advice

Hi,

I am relocating from Atlanta, GA to Kansas City. I haven't yet decided if I want to be in Missouri or Kansas, but either will do. I'll preferably be on the south side of Kansas City as that is where most of my business will be.

I've been looking hard at Overland Park. I'm going to need a 2 bedroom apartment at around $1000/month or less. I also would like information on local/state taxes, car taxes, and any recommendations on a moving company. I've been looking on the Internet and doing research on moving companies and seeing a lot of horror stories about how people get scammed.

Please FRMail me if you have any information.

Thanks a bunch in advance,

Xrp

Your taxes are going to be much higher in Kansas than in Missouri. The Kansas side of the line is nicer, much newer and better developed than the Missouri side. If you like a rural setting the Missouri side, south, has a lot to offer. You can get into the peace and quiet of the farm land very quickly.
Either side of the line has rapid access to the north-south, east-west interstate highways.
How far south will your work take you?
