So what if some lame-brain character in a movie with a budget as large as the GNP of Zimbabwe

According to the CIA World Factbook, the GDP of Zim is about $27 billion.

Just a little larger than LOTR's budget.

Another way for our benighted friend to look at this - once we correct his figures - is to ask why it is that Zimbabwe has a GNP only times as large as the gross take of a major motion picture trilogy.

And it ain't because evil Americans have been stealing Zimbabwe's wealth.

Then it would be profitable for him to ask whether all that money - given freely by consumers for a product they desire - should be given to Zimbabwe instead. And if we did whether any of it would go to the poor people of Zimbabwe rather than their insane kleptocratic thug of a president.
