Many of the newer OEM motherboards, like Dell and Gateway, will not support an IDE Zip drive.

Many of the newer OEM motherboards, like Dell and Gateway, will not support an IDE Zip drive. If there's an open PCI slot, you can install a cheap IDE controller card that will give you 4 ports for peripherals.
