~The Dragon Flies' Lair V~
November 25, 2003 | bentfeather

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guides
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good description.
Working on a bit of thick fog here now.
It's the dulling of the senses from this weather that bothers me.
Makes me uneasy and makes me feel vulnerable.
I don' like that feeling.
Kinda like hiking down a trail in the dark and suddenly bursting out into a field under the moon.
You suddenly feel VERY visible and conspicuous.
I don't like that feeling either.

That's supposed to creep it's way down towards me later on.
We're afraid it'll be icy roads first, and our road crews like to dally about their jobs.
Whether or not they do an actual 8 hours and actualy clear roads is trivial, they're salaried and get overtime.

Good morning Sir!

Add a few lines
they don't have to rhyme
or even make sense
because I'm dense
The weather out side is snowing
and building little drifts on the shrubs
Sloppy weather when we are not together!

Take it away Colonel!

You have to make a list of names so we know when it's our turn. I had a mental block on Clark, but now I'm free.

The Gen'ral

I‘d say that you’re invalid,
Even though you served.
The Clintons really like you,
That’s why I am unnerved.
You seem to be a sissy,
Too light in your old loafers.
I’d say it seems for Bill and Hill,
You’re just one of their gofers.
Retired your stars and that is best,
For you’ve not got a clue.
I’d vote for Sharpton, Gen’ral Clark,
Before I’d vote for you.

Very well ... and I can take a swipe at the opposition at the same time :)

The Folk Song Army
Tom Lehrer

We are the folk song army,
Every one of us cares.
We all hate poverty, war, and injustice
Unlike the rest of you squares.

There are innocuous folk songs, yeah,
But we regard 'em with scorn.
The folks who sing 'em have no social conscience,
Why, they don't even care if Jimmy Crack Corn.

If you feel dissatisfaction,
Strum your frustrations away.
Some people may prefer action,
But give me a folk song any old day.

The tune don't have to be clever,
And it don't matter if you put a couple extra syllables into a line.
It sounds more ethnic if it ain't good English
And it don't even gotta rhyme... (excuse me: rhyne!)

Remember the war against Franco?
That's the kind where each of us belongs.
Though he may have won all the battles,
We had all the good songs!

So join in the folk song army!
Guitars are the weapons we bring
To the fight against poverty, war, and injustice.
Ready, aim, sing!

Don't know about swooning,
I just like the Crooning.

Yes, and lets' not leave out honeymooning!
LOL
In my mother's time they called
it spoonin'
Can you imagine such jive today
it's enough to give me the hives

I'm In The Mood
to swoon and croon
not moan and groan
just play with the words
would not be unheard
not absurd to Swoon away
a dreary day, so come on
poets and let's play!

Wonderful work!! LOL

Just bring them guitars
and look at the stars
wonder about what's
on Mars
and does Venus
really have no arms
and why are snow flakes
all different?
