                  | My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky
 I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides
we would dip and we would glide
 through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
 my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Thank you for the poem and songs today. I especially liked listening to "Hello" this morning.

Columbine
      opened her petals today
 she was expected to
 be received with warmth

She now with head bowed
 In reverence to the cold
 waits in anticipation
 of warm kisses from sol.

Fiddle Head Fern
 spread her fronds
 to catch the sun--
 If you were very
keen as you strolled past her
you can smell the woodsy aroma.

But, if you happened to
 caress her ever so gently
she carried herself into your nostrils
 and rode along with you.

    Rabbits Foot ferns..
Never could get the darn things to grow.
Dunno why the poem reminded me of them.

These Fern were in my back yard when I moved here. The fronds multiply over the years. I dearly love them and the aroma they emit.

You call them by another name! Did you know they are edible? They are delicious but must be gathered at a very early stage just as they form and are coiled very tight. A very short reaping time for them. They can be frozen and eaten year around.
To: bentfeather
Rabbits Foot Ferns are also edible, but they're more fuzzy and harder to get to grow.
There's a book I have somewhere in my possession that tells you how to cook the young fronds.
Also tells you about yewberries.
Hint, don't eat yewberries.
*chuckle*
I'm the only guy who I know of who would have a garden containing Monkshood, Foxglove, Bleeding Heart, and Nightshade.
UNfortunately, I live in an area where the local kids would nibble on said garden.

Monkshood, Foxglove, Bleeding Heart, and Nightshade.
I, also have Foxglove. I love these flowers. I don't have Bleeding Heart, it's was a favorite of my mom.

Monkshood? Is there a common name for this plant? Jack In the Pulpit???? Nightshade, tomatoes are a member of this family.

I'll put a filter on it for you baby
 just wanted you to know
 I stopped loving you
 a long time ago
Adios, Farewell, best I can do
 She looked better than me
Just wanted you to know, I knew

Remembering You When Violets Are Blue

 While picking violets
 it occurred to me
 how very good the
 Lord God is to me...

 Oh the colours rare
of violets in the gardens' hair
near tree trunks broad and wide
in open patches by the path side
near Fiddle Head Fern's unfurling leaves
by the bird baths waiting in the breeze...

 Under skies of pastels' blue
 my memory thoughts
 all turn to you
of loves embrace in violet time...
how sweet it is when you are mine...

    I (yet again)rewrote some lines.
I'm sure you can understand the
reason for it's title...

Acidtrippy

'twas breakfast for the slothy gnome
who mumbled & gurgled on some brains
all flimsy were the garlic cloves &
the bathrobes outcame....

"Becare the Jagger Talk, long Jon
the gummsy mite, his lips do flap!
Becare the ju-ju bees, and run
from the numerous bands you watch!"

Be shook by whirlpool tubs with hands
Wrong time for madness so he thought.
so wrestled he with yard gnomes, three
and fumed awhile distraught

As by the gimpish ref he stood
the Jagger Talk, all lips & novocaine,
came slobbering in his tulle gray suit.
And drooled as he came.

Who knew?! Who knew?! It was only you?
the portal gave my knickers back!
I left my bed and on my sled
I crashed into a smokestack,

and blasted the face of Jagger Talk.
His flailing lips, oh boy, oh boy.
Augh, frightening play! Too few! More hay!
He curdled at the ploy

'twas breakfast for the slothy gnome
who mumbled & gurgled on some brains
all flimsy were the garlic cloves &
the bathrobes outcame....

    Monkshood is usually poisonous.
And Potatos are the ONLY edible member of the nightshade family.
