~The Dragon Flies' Lair V~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guides
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Battered I fell into a darkened void
The shattered pieces of what was me
Lay scattered around for all to see
I sit in the center of ruins of what I knew
The lynchpin of my destruction
The loss of all that was you.

Hello Colonel,

Sorry for the delay in my reply, I had to leave for a meeting and could not respond.

Let me think on this for a few minutes.

Thank you.
Came to mind while I heard a shattered tinkling in my head.
*shrugs*
No, I don't know why I heard it, but it gave me inspiration.
I get inspiration from the oddest places.

Dark train run
the world
shrouded in fog
and dewy mist
the single passenger
sobbing soul
left alone for
the ride,
the whistle blower
last trip solo
meet you in the
ghosty hollow

That's the way it goes Darksheare. Inspiration from here and there.

True.
My inspiration for drawings has come from such innocuous and mundane items as a dirt smudge on the paper, and a paperclip.

All the Memories

I would whitewash your mind...
all the memories of other women,
especially the one hurting you most.
I would wipe it clean, if I could,
I do not have the right to take on your pain.

Fascinating!
It's got an edgy feel to it.

Wounded Hearts

Amber hues
Rich Jasmine,
Camomile aromas
silvery threads
interlacing a wounded heart
flashes of the red times
move over the valley
of haunting spirits.

Bending willows
circle the weir...

Hearts residue
of clinging ash
filter down
ungirded loins...
left innocent...
in wonder
of when the
candle dance ended.

Thank You Darksheare. Often people tell me some of my work has an edge to it. I was in a lot of pain when this was written.

Welcome.
Pain, happiness, and other emotions and experiences are all bases for inspiration.
Usually the stronger the feeling, the more stressed the tone of the poem.

As a general rule, I haven't put the one angry one down yet.
Or, at least, I haven't saved it yet.
The other stuff isn't so much angry as it is hurt or at a loss.
