My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Ode to Dust
Dust, you are disgusting!
I move you from
here to there....
I find you are everywhere!
On my knickknacks....
on my "puter", on the floor,
above the door...
my mirrors reflect your
presence there
Like I said, you're everywhere!
Should company come
I always request
they sign my
dusty guest book
or, if they wish
a table top,
the tv screen...
now that is neat!
Each day I dust
my monitor, I need
to watch the poets play!
So..... an ode to you
o' nuisance dust
the game
we play is a must!
Moving from here to there
each day, ode to dust!

"The Miracle of Friends "

Friends are a miracle, of that there's no doubt,
A necessity of life, we can not do without.
When things go wrong and life seems so bleak,
We're tempted to think we can't do it, we're weak.
Oh we will struggle, and we'll do what is right,
But then comes the time when there's just no more fight.
We blink back the tears and we say we're OK.
But inside we think, "I can't go one more day."
Then there's the touch of a hand kind and strong,
And a voice that says gently, "Let me help you along."
"Don't hold it in, let go, let it out."
This is what friendship is truly about.
A friend who will care and isn't ashamed,
To share in your tears, and call you by name.
The friend may not know what you're going through,
But says, "If you need me, I'll be there for you."
Friends who can comfort and help bear your load,
Are worth far more than their weight in pure gold.
Lord, open my eyes, and help me to see.
A part of The Miracle of Friends let me be.

You offered me tea
not my cup
but I accepted
your eyes fixed
beyond me
cold, frozen
Why did you ask me in?

You introduced yourself
one afternoon while passing
my cottage at the beach
we had a mutual friend
sort of a common bond
really only an acquaintance
would introduce themselves
to the devil
and sinners don't always
welcome a common course.
Why did you close the door on tomorrow?

The Time is Now
If you are ever going to love me,
Love me now, while I can know
The sweet and tender feelings
Which from true affection flow,
Love me now while I am living,
Do not wait until I'm gone
And then have it chiseled in marble,
Sweet words on ice-cold stone.
If you have tender thoughts of me,
Please tell me now.
If you wait until I m sleeping,
Never to awaken,
There will be death between us,
and I won't hear you then.
So, if you love me, even a little bit,
Let me know it while I am living
So I can treasure it.

The Glistening
Take me over - the glistening
It's so much farther - to better things
Wide open arms - hold onto me
I feel alone - please comfort me
It's getting colder - no warmth in here
Gone so long - you're lost I fear
Come back home - it's glistening
Stinging eyes - they're glittering
Tear stained woes - I must confess
A trail of tears - in our duress
Take me over - the glistening
Hold me closely - be with me

This piece is both sad and lovely.
To: bentfeather
Thank you.
It's got a tune to it, unfortunately, I can neither read nor write sheet music.
So I'm hampered by this, as is this bit of writ.

When I was a kid my Uncle Fran was teaching me piano. I would practice and then I would memorize all the music. I have not touched a piano in years and am sure I don't remember the music.

To: bentfeather
My step-daughter was trying patiently to teach me how to play piano.
And she had me playing simple tunes.
However, once she died, I went out of practice and can't even find middle c anymore.
