My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Happy Birthday SAM!!
A poem I should write,
for our SamWolf's Birthday delight!
I could have sat up all night
just to
get it right
and write
a poesy for you

Since I am writing on the wing
I'll try to let a little song fling
to the winds and through
the trees...
to Oregon if you please
to my dear friend SAM!
Now don't you go and turn all red
cause these words
are truly meant
and offered in friendship
rare... to a poet in the Lair!!!
To: bentfeather

Sorry, I can't help myself. Thanks for everything, Feather.

Friend
It's a very special love
holds more value than gold
rich and full in flavor
delightful to behold
words sometimes do
come up short to extol
the value of a friend
who's heart is that of
a treasure chest
filled with laughs
warmth, respect
and honor..
I do not do it justice
with these feeble words
but my friend you mean
the world to me
never, never to end.
To: SAMWolf
The "Footnoted Birthday Card"???
*LOL!*

Where are your dreams tonight?
My dream is always the same
I want things like they were
like those days when the cats followed us
into the garden we talked of contrast and abstract ideals
You were the earth bond one
I was the head in the stars
and flying on my mind
things have not changed for me
I still look and listen for you there
you are looking at the black and white pattern on the damned floor
and will not take a chance and met me there in our private place...
we don't even breathe there for fear of disturbing the dust that binds us the air is so cold...
I can see my breath...
the cat's whiskers are frozen black/white white/black
or is it something else I don't remember
Here I am your special lady and you are a sucker for contrast
when it doesn't matter tell me your jokes

I wrote this poem last December.
It was included in a Anthology at another site,
I used to be a considered a member of.

This is very powerful. It hits me right where my heart hurts. And this is not a bad thing. :)

snippy, Colonel, Thank You.
I have two years work in those Anthologies.
They can no longer be accessed here at FR.
To: bentfeather
They can no longer be accessed here at FR.I hope you didn't have any of your writing permanantly lost. If you still have it just bring it all back here to the Lair, it belongs here.

Quiet Within Me
The countenance of you
brushes gently over my mind stirring me...
my soul...to move above...
Beyond every day din
to a quiet moment of reverie
and safety of dreams
tenderness of thought
respect of the holiness of my sanctuary
wherein a small river of love and life reside
and the ever present wails of lone wolf howl
cannot disrupt the oneness of me.
Even more than that...
a union of kindred spirits
quieted by adoration in the
ethereal place promised to two alone.

Does the universal code of order demand magnetic forces be drawn together ?
Searching souls to meet,
hungering for a oneness
a complete union of love
cause it to break away -
out of of orbit the norms
of suffering realms of silence
to draw close to be electrified...
Shooting stars, sparks flying, lightning bolts flashing,
thirsty passion, looking for you in the nebula of Cancer
the hot bed of romance in the house of the rising sun...
I'll meet you in space between Jupiter and Mars for the ride of your life...

I hope you had copies of it. The few I did write are gone forever. I didn't keep copies. Of course that might be a good thing. ;-)
