Hmmm...I have demanded to be cremated also. I want the family to choose where to scatter my ashes. That will give them something to ponder. LOL

But, I want them to party first at the wake.

I thought wakes were held at the deseased home...Bar set up on the coffin etc....Or the ashes put in a place of honor and let the party begin...Don't think the funeral home has to be involved at all...JMHO...

We had a memorial service for my husband a week after he died. The Sheriff's Office helped with most of the arrangements - I was completely clueless what to do. They had use of a school auditorium and his friends spoke, my neice sang, bagpipes played Amazing Grace, and our former pastor gave an excellent eulogy. It was a very nice event with a large attendance. I don't remember it all, but I think Greg would have been pleased.... his relatives from out of town seemed content.
