Good Morning everyone.
Just returned from a road trip to Argentina...had a great time, except I thought the wife was going to break us "saving" money. Argentina is sooo cheap now, food, clothing, taxis, everything is a bargin.
We stayed in the Hyatt in Mendoza and met an American family who were there with their daughters on vacation. Seven of us went to dinner at the Hyatt, (recently mentioned in the magazine, Wine Spectator, as having one of the best wine selections in the world...great restaurant). Dinner with several bottles of wine, desert, the full Monty for seven people was about $100 US dollars with tip.
Taxis are a $1.00 to go about 10-blocks.
Leather is the big bargin in Argentina though. The wife bought an antelope skin blazer and had another jacket hand made in one day from some other critter...price was about $150 a piece. She assures me this stuff would cost $400 a piece in the US...if you could find this quality.
Wine is a super bargin as well, in fact the Argentinian wines are as good or better than Chilean wines. If you have the oportunity, try an Argentinian Malbec wine...excellent.
It was sunny and warm the entire trip, it's foggy and barely 60 here.
Happy New Year to all.

What an amazing dinner bargain!
I want dinner with wine and a leather coat. Sounds like a great trip.

Good morning Cuttn, it sounds like you had a great trip. That sounded like lots of fun.. ;)
We went boating yesterday, and had a wonderful day. We picked a winner weather-wise.
