If the cat scan had shown something really badThey knew how bad it was from the ultrasound. What they are trying to find out is, can it be fixed by going up through the arteries in the groin or would they have to cut me wide open...My vascular surgeon says I'm to damn old to be cut open..... If it can be fixed by going up through my groin then I have to decide if I want to have it done or just say to hell with it all...lol

Westy, I am glad you have options and you are not in immediate crisis.
So, the doc will determine if your aneurysm can be repaired going through the femoral artery next month. But, I need to say something of this "too old to be cut open" statement that your doc made to you.
I don't know how old you are, Westy. My Mom was 71 when a tumor was found on her lung. When all the assessments for surgery were in, including extensive pulmonary tests, the thoracic surgion and anethesiolgist sat down with her and told her that she was not a good candidate for surgery. She was old and smoked nasty cigarettes, after all. She asked them if their reluctance was for their stats or were they concerned of her. They both were stunned at her question. She told them that they would do the surgery. She did not have any other options, though, like you. She did have cancer and had her lower left lung removed. She did fine and lived.
Now, I am not questioning your decision of any medical consideration you might have. But, it galls me when a doc says that a person is to "old", if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I hope you don't say to hell with it all, even though I understand that is a very personal decision.
