But, there's 14 years difference between my wife and I, she being the older of the two of us.
My step-daughter cracked jokes about the two of us being ancient and freaking people out with saying "dad" and "Daughter" to each other.
She was only 6 years younger than I.
It was worth a few jokes, and she was quite the jokester.
I think that's what I miss the most, the jokes and laughing.
The term "natural order of things" doesn't quite apply as well to my experience.
*crooked grin*
Not much was or is really 'natural' about my life, considering.
Heck, for proof just re-read the second sentence.

One of my relatives, male, is married to a woman twenty-one years older than him. They have been happily married for years.
The natural order of things.... I mean that parents should grow old and die. If a child dies before them...it is a never ending grief.
My own Mother was distraught that her brother, next to her in a line of twelve children, died. She thought she should have been the first to die as she was the oldest. And this was just her sibling.
