Reading subtle changes
in a lover thru fingertips
is the most accurate
way to detect a shift
in color, mood, temper
and emotion

Even though years
may span in a relationship
a cooling of color at dusk
a shifting to aloneness
by one breaks the vow
of together - the
texture if embossed
is flattened, faded
dried and brittle
dust in the wind
tattered paper vows
in abstract misery...
