Hello Everyone,

I am having a discussion with an extremely liberal friend of mine, and he made the claim that only Christian white societies have ever been involved in slavery. I know this isn't true, but for the life of me, can't come up with any counter examples.

Can anybody here assist me in finding counter examples, and resources to back them up?

South America received 1/3 of Africa's slaves. Most of the slave owners in Africa were Black themselves. There are still countless black slaves today owned by blacks in Africa. I think America only received 12% of Africa's slaves.

I find it remarkable ironic that so many Blacks find Islam in prison and blame the USA for historic wrongs while turning a blind eye to today's wrongs.

You can always cite the communist gulags in Asian nations (eg China). The so-called cradle of humanity can also be considered the cradle of slavery. How about the Egyptians and the Jews or the Babylonians and the Jews. Slavery has existed long before Christ walked the Earth. Your liberal friend is an ignorant fool that probably doesn't care for Christians much. You can also let the dolt know that white Christians were largely responsible for the elimination of slavery in the West.

And let's not forget that American Indians, those blessed souls loved by the left, also kept slaves. Indians kept slaves from other bands, or whites, and I'd imagine even some blacks. That is, if they didn't just rape them and kill them right off.

Actually, many of the African tribes practiced slavery long before the white man. When one tribe defeated another, they would take slaves. When whites arrived, they found that the African nations had very little of value to trade, but they did have manpower in the form of slaves. In the time before the industrial revolution, when man and beast were the engine of industry, manpower that could be purchased was very appealing.

The white man didn't start slavery. He did, however, turn it into a business.

Man, what do you think "Back to Aztlan" is all about? The Aztecs at the pyramids of Tenochtitlan carved hearts out of captured slaves and threw them down the steps. The Incas were damn close to a slave culture, plenty of serfs. The romans were about a 1/3 slave culture for quite a while. The Egyptians kept slaves, ever hear of Moses? The Greek Spartans enslaved other Greeks (the hellots, I think). Chinese coolies weren't invented here in the U.S. Mao Tse Tung and Pol Pot ran re-education camps which were the same as slavery. Should I continue?

This person is so friggin indoctrinated that he WILL NOT BELIEVE anything you offer as a counter argument. He will start by saying, "Well, this person can say anything. What proof is this?"

If you continue, he will say, "Well neither you nor I were there so this is not really verifiable!"

When you bring forth further information, he will just poo-poo the whole idea and get that smug "I know better than anyone" look that most libs put on when caught with the lie.
