Nothing special about the the script. The "End US" page could have just contained a simple text message about something big happening to the U.S. by the end of 2/3/2004, it would have had the same effect. The reproduction of the timer that I posted on my website this morning caused a minor stir over at the "EOM and Daleel" Yahoo group. The count-down is one of many examples of recent Web-based Jihadist trash-talk. There are a few things that bother me about it.
- The fact that it disappeared so quickly once it started getting some attention.
- The fact that it ends around the time of the EID/Feasts/Islamic New Year.
- OBL is running out of time to conduct his promised martyrdom operation by the end of the year. What some thought was the end of the year has yet to pass for the Jihadists.
