they will have so many radiation sensors sweeping that place, and so much security outside, the biggest threat is likely a body cavity bomber with a ticket to the game. Well, as they say.."close only counts in horseshoes, bocci ball and hand grenades..er, nuclear weapons".
If they have what I think they have ("big mama nukes" pre-positoned on US soil < 9/11), it ain't gonna matter a whole lot (IMHO) that guys have rad detectors AROUND the stadium.
AQ could light one of these off miles away and unless we are scouring the ENTIRE city, we probably won't see it coming.

PS..I know you think that we can find the nukes with monitoring. I'm just not so sure. (They can be shielded with heavy lead or be underground quite easily).
I also think that AQ would have NO problem hiring ex-Soviet scientists to maintain these things to prevent breakdown and keep them active/tip top shape.

we are scouring the entire country via satellite, and probably have small aircraft/helicopter based searches in targeted areas, and even closer inspection by the ground based people like the ones who were on the streets of all those cities for new years eve.

I'm still thinking that it would be set off offshore.
