I would say that somehow my computer is screwed up, but there were others who only got the error message too.

I have no idea how to explain it.

For some of the people who can still read them, the files are likely cached on the network servers through which their ISP routes requests.

I am a mainframe programmer, not a pc/web/network guy, so I might be talking out my wazoo.
