Khattab was nearly worshipped by many in the arab world. As I recall he was originally from Jordan.The Russians finally succeeded in taking him out by bribing a fellow chechen of his into giving Khattab a letter which was poisoned. It was a great day for many of us here on FR who celebrated together.
