Hopefully there are more folks than you realize that are as prepared. My husband and I have "bags" that are similar to what you described in both vehicles. We have large stocks of supplies, medicine, etc., etc., at home. Ours is not so much "to go" as "to stay" as we live in a very rural area. I would also add that IMO any good preparation should include guns and ammo. No, we are not some sort of "survivalist loons". Just regular folks that prefer to stay aware of current world events and consider all possibilities, prepare, and then go on with our lives.
I would hope that people would realize that being prepared in this manner is not just because of 9/11, or ME terrorists, or Feb. 2. There is still the threat of wacko N. Korea, among others. Nothing wrong with being prepared. If you never need the supplies in your lifetime than you have had a blessed and peaceful life. But, if you do need them...
Here in "Hurricane Alley" to be without adequate emergency supplies is foolish. If you've never lived through one, you have no idea.
Who knows whether those would be sufficient for some kind of "attack nobody expects." But if we aren't killed outright in the initial phase, I'm confident that we'd make it.
