this is another myth about a dirty bomb making the city "uninhabitable". Do you realize how many peoiple live in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Yes; you are right. However, what do you suppose people would do if a dirty nuke went off in NYC? It would be chaos for months, with folks killing each other to get away, and the economy of NYC would go straight into the toilet. I bet it would take years to get back to normal.

Hiroshim and Nagasaki were both relatively clean airbursts.

You blow up a dirty bomb laced with cesium or worse, cobalt, yes you could render all of Manhattan uninhabitable.
