I share your concern and skepticim. Predict the inevitible based upon unnamed sources that can't be disclosed, and then when the inevitible finally happens, you can say, "See, I told you so." Any difference in facts between what was predicted to happen and what is reported to have actually happened will be explained away, using unnnamed sources, as inconsequential.

The thought has crossed my mind that the three of them are one. Every once in a while I'll read a news article about a firefighter who is arrestd for a series of arsons. The key clue is that he was always the first one at the seen to put the fire out.
