Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

VP Cheney excerpt re: link between AQ/Iraq and CW,BW~~~~~~~

"I can give you a few quick for instances -- one, the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993. The main perpetrator was a man named Ramzi Yousef. He's now in prison in Colorado. His sidekick in the exercise was a man named Abdul Rahman Yasin . . . Ahman Rahman . . . Yasin is his last name anyway. I can't remember his earlier first names. He fled the United States after the attack, the 1993 attack, went to Iraq, and we know now based on documents that we've captured since we took Baghdad, that they put him on the payroll, gave him a monthly stipend and provided him with a house, sanctuary, in effect, in Iraq, in the aftermath of nine-ele ... (sic) ... the 93' attack on the World Trade Center."

The reporter followed up. "So you stand by the statements?"

"Absolutely. Absolutely. And you can look at Zarkawi, (Abu Mussab) al-Zarkawi, who is still out there operating today, who was an al Qaeda associate, who was wounded in Afghanistan, took refuge in Baghdad, working out of Baghdad, worked with the Ansar al Islam group up in northeastern Iraq, that produced a so-called poison factory, a group that we hit when we went into Iraq. They were involved in trying to smuggle things, manufacture and smuggle things like ricin into Europe to attack various targets in Europe with. He also, Zarkawi, was responsible for the assassination of a man named Foley, who worked for A.I.D. in Amman, Jordan, an American assigned over there."

"The links go back. We know for example from interrogating detainees in Guantanamo that al Qaeda sent individuals to Baghdad to be trained in C.W. and B.W. technology, chemical and biological weapons technology. These are all matters that are there for anybody who wants to look at it. A lot of it has been declassified. More, I'm sure, will be declassified in the future, and my expectation would be as we get the time. We haven't really had the time yet to pore through all those records in Baghdad. We'll find ample evidence confirming the link -- that is the connection, if you will, between al Qaeda and the Iraqi intelligence services. They have worked together on a number of occasions."

5 million on terrorism list

Canuck: U.S. on the lookout for 'potential problem'

By TOM GODFREY, TORONTO SUN

U.S. security agents have a master list of five million people worldwide thought to be potential terrorists or criminals, officials say. "The U.S. lookout index contains some five million names of known terrorists and other persons representing a potential problem," Brian Davis, a senior Canadian immigration official in Paris, said in a confidential document obtained by the Sun.

Names on the list are compared against those applying for visas or on flights travelling to the U.S.

Anyone whose name is on the list is questioned or banned from entering the U.S. -- as passengers were on two British Airways flights to Los Angeles two weeks ago.

The master list was revealed by U.S. embassy officials to a Canadian standing immigration committee in April 2002. Its existence was revealed in Davis' document, obtained by Montreal lawyer Richard Kurland through an Access to Information request.

Davis said Canadian visa officers abroad do not keep an extensive list like the U.S. because terrorists can use bogus documents and change their identities.

"We examine each application according to profiles," he said. "(We) apply experience and knowledge gained from a variety of sources. Canada's approach to identifying persons who may pose a danger was as sound as possible."

CSIS agents in Paris send a "brief" to Ottawa for cases that require more in-depth investigation.

"•“It will be an innovative attack, in the sense that it will be completely unexpected, and impossible for them [the West] to even think about or picture its way of action, for it is unimaginable in the normal way. •“It will be bigger, in the sense that the loss from which America and the Western World will suffer [will be bigger], because it will be very big and immeasurable. •“Due to its greatness, it will change the global power balance.”"

I just can't imagine what this supposed attack could be that we haven't already thought of considering the many people who work solely on threat analysis and threat matrix. After 9-11 they even consulted some of the best novelists for their wildest ideas of what the next attack would be.

Odd, the Egyptian government said mechanical failure about 990 too...

Time to revisit this section of a WND article (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=29893

One of the worst air disasters in recent history, Egypt Air Flight 990 crashed into the Atlantic shortly after takeoff from New York in October 1999, killing 217.

Two-and-a-half years later, the National Transportation Safety Board finally reached the same conclusion last March that virtually everyone else had immediately after the crash ? that the plane's Egyptian copilot, Gameel El-Batouty, had cut power to the engines and intentionally sent the plane plummeting into the ocean, killing all aboard.

But the government panel declined to suggest a motive, except to speculate that El-Batouty might have "committed suicide."

Suicide? To most, "mass murder" or "terrorism" would better describe the wanton annihilation of hundreds of innocent people. Yet, despite the fact the copilot had calmly repeated over and over the Arabic phrase "tawkalt" ? meaning "I rely on Allah" ? for almost a minute and a half during his deed ? and that such behavior, according to the report, "is not consistent with the reaction that would be expected from a pilot who is encountering an unexpected or uncommanded flight condition" ? the federal report steered clear of suggesting jihad as a motive.

Egyptian reaction to the report was adamant: The plane's failure was mechanical and the American report was a craven attempt to protect Boeing, the aircraft's manufacturer. "Committing suicide is not a trait that Egyptians and Muslims are known for," commented the head of the Egyptian pilots association.

But Jim Brokaw, who lost his father and stepmother in the crash and is now president of Families of Egypt Air 990 Inc., said it was clear the copilot was responsible. "American families regret that Egypt continues to resist this unavoidable conclusion, even after the events of Sept. 11," he said, according to the Associated Press. "We call upon President George W. Bush to move beyond his predecessor's failure of leadership in this matter, and ensure that a full criminal investigation takes place."

But there will likely be no criminal investigation. The perpetrator is already dead, and "jihad" is not considered a motive. So what's the point?

If the obvious conclusion is off-limits, what possible motive is left to explain the calm taking of 217 lives? The best the Los Angeles Times could come up with was the suggestion that El-Batouty might have been taking revenge against an Egypt Air executive who was aboard the flight.

The thing that worries me here is that I can't even begin to conceive of an attack that "due to it's greatness will change the global power balance".

EOM, Daleel, etc do not worry me.

THIS type of stuff does, as it's in the "official" publication of AQ, and sounds less hyperbolic & rantish and more matter-of-fact.

Hard to write this type of statement off as typical Arab hyperbole.

The ONLY thing that I can think of that would be this "big" would be nukes - or maybe bio.

All I know is that post 2/4, I'm not gonna follow this stuff anymore, as it is no fun being worried constantly about the situation.

We're in northern Idaho and have been stocking up gallon containers of water and buying extra canned goods, matches, etc. every time we go to the store. We keep our cars filled with gasoline and have a spare gas can (just in case we need it). If an "event" ever happens, the stores may be in utter chaos.. Gas stations would be filled with long lines. We don't listen to Art Bell and we're not paranoid. With the knowledge we have virtually unsealed borders and terrorists who claim to be already here, it doesn't look like the situation is going to improve anytime soon, its only prudent to be as ready as possible for any scenario. If Yellowstone ever does erupt in the remaining years while we're alive, then all we can do is try to outrun the ash and who knows what direction the ash would go. Without prior notice we might not be able to outrun it at all. We lived in southwest Washington when Mt. St. Helens blew and it was quite something to experience. Driving in it was surreal; something we'll never forget.

Speaking of Canada.............

Nfld. stowaways in custody while immigration officials investigate arrivals

DENE MOORE

ST. JOHN'S, Nfld. (CP) - Immigration officials say they will review the case of three stowaways who arrived in Newfoundland aboard a cargo ship to see whether the island's busy shipping ports are a weak spot for illegal entry into Canada.

Two men were found shivering in the snow over the weekend after they were seen jumping from an Icelandic vessel docked in Argentia, Nfld. A third man was held by the crew of the Skogafoss until police arrived Saturday evening.

"They're being detained," Joan Walsh, spokeswoman for Citizenship and Immigration Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador, said Tuesday.

Walsh said Immigration officials were still gathering information.

"If there are indications that there are some areas of weakness anywhere . . . that's looked at when all of the information is gathered," she said. "It's a normal process. If a route opens up, it's investigated through intelligence and a decision is made as to what action is to be taken from there."

Canadian ports have come under increased scrutiny since the September 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States and the climate of fear that followed.

But the men - a 27-year-old from Iran, a 36-year-old from Eritrea and a 32-year-old from Iraq - are the first stowaways in the area in some time, if not the first ever, said Const. Raymond Jullien.

RCMP followed footprints in the snow to find the two men who jumped ship. Dressed in light summer clothing, they did not make it far.

The Eritrean man "was hiding in the snow under a trailer," said Jullien. "He had been in the snow for at least 45 minutes so he was a bit cold."

The other man, from Baghdad, was found more than two kilometres away about an hour and half after RCMP were called.

"He was in the snow in the ditch," Jullien said. "He could hardly walk."

The men were taken to the local health centre for examination and later released. All are in fairly good health, say Immigration officials.

Speaking in broken English, the men told police they hid in the engine hold of the cargo ship for a week.

"The man from Iraq told us that when they ran out of water on the boat, for them to get water they licked the side of the boat for the condensation," Jullien said.

The Iraqi man indicated that he left his country last May 18 and seemed surprised when told Saddam Hussein's regime had been toppled, police said.

"They jumped from boat to boat to arrive here in Newfoundland," Jullien said.

Although one or more of the stowaways indicated they have family in Canada, police do not believe they knew they were in Canada when they jumped ship.

"When we first got to him and helped him up from the ditch he looked at me and said, 'Canada? Canada?' like he was wondering if he was in Canada," Jullien said of the Iraqi stowaway.

"They just get put on a boat and just go on like that. Wherever they get, they get."

The men are not facing criminal charges.

Immigration officials would not say whether they have made refugee claims.

This is what I think it is:
1. Simultanious attacks of
a. numerous conventional explosions
b. Biological/chemical attacks in buildings and neighborhoods.
c. Gunmen in the streets, office buildings. your neighbor, etc. (you would only need one or two in a building because most people don't pack heat at work,or anywhere for that matter). Perhaps aided by Gang Members (i.e. Nation of Islam) We did sieze that one shipment of AK's to be delivered to Gangs from a COSCO ship a few years back. Coincidently around the same time Klintoon was trying to give the Long Beach port to China. How many others made it through?
d. A nuke or two perhaps
2. The grand finale is the Tsunami caused by a landslide on La Palma Island.

I know I going out on a limb here but this is what I see. They have to do it big otherwise the gig is up. We are hunting them down and capturing them. Their movement will lose steam as their numbers lessons and old regimes fall by the wayside. The U.N. is becoming less and less relavent therefore the despots running it are also heading into the history pages. The elist puppet masters strings are being cut.

Somali pleads not guilty to lying about donation

Terror accusations puzzle his family

By Marisa Taylor and Leonel Sanchez
UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITERS

January 24, 2004

The president of two San Diego-based Somalian organizations pleaded not guilty yesterday to lying about taking money from a group linked to terrorists.

Community leaders and his family said they were mystified by the charges.

Omar Abdi Mohammed, 41, a teacher's assistant in a San Diego elementary school, was described by prosecutors in federal court as a shadowy figure who collected more than $351,000 from a group accused of financing international terrorism.

Prosecutors have refused to say what they believe Mohammed did with the money, but they said in court that, in addition to the $351,000, he also received $1,700 a month from a "foreign source" and traveled frequently to Saudi Arabia, China and countries in Africa.

"His financial situation is extremely unclear," said Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parmley.

Outside the courtroom, Parmley refused to comment on what he meant by "foreign source."

Hard to believe how many go free, merrily on their way to do whatever they had in mind. It seems all we hear lately is this isn't related to terrorism or the stowaways got away or go free.....especially in Canada.

We're in northern Idaho and have been stocking up gallon containers of water and buying extra canned goods, matches, etc. every time we go to the store. We keep our cars filled with gasoline and have a spare gas can (just in case we need it)..

A good approach, IMHO, and one I've implemented as well. We have nearly a year's worth of stored grains (I use it for bread and cereal also, so is something I have on hand anyway) and at least a month's water. We could stay put for quite some time unless being heavily dosed by gamma rad or in the path of a nasty chem leak or attack headed our way.

We also keep our cars full, and spare gas. I ran out during the power outage, and was in bad shape getting back home. That was no fun, and nothing I want to repeat anytime soon.

Other things to consider: NukAlert (rad detector), N95+ masks, alternative cooking fuel (see nitropak.com, they have good options here), waterproof matches, first aid, toilet paper & bucket toilet w/LOTS of heavy garbage bags, tools, hand cranked mill for grains, etc.

I also don't think any of this is nuts at all, and you raise a great point about the fact that the bad guys are already living among us (insane border policies and all), and that they want to kill as many of us as they can - quite possibly w/WMD.

Hey..when I read about NEST being out (on CNN.COM no less), it is time for prudent people to pay attention. Too many of our friends and neighbors are busy "living large" and laughing at those of us who are concerned. Yet, I think we live in very dangerous times - and there is NO telling what will happen (just like we couldn't predict airplanes leveling the WTC).

Just MHO!
