Well British cooking isn't all that bad...they have given us some good things...We used to pal around with a couple from England and the wife was an excellent cook of both American dishes and English dishes. She made a Cornwall pasty that you would die for...pastry filled with veggies and meat and cheese or whatever....And at Christmas time she made two Marzipan cakes that took her days to make...they were absolutely beautiful but I was never fortunate to be at her home when she actually cut and ate the cakes..

And don't forget the English trifle and of course, beef and yorkshire pudding (which is really just a popover that falls when cooking so it looks squashed down, lol.

Re: Bangers...one of our friends remarked that she was anxious to visit England and try some bangers and our English friend remarked, in her very British accent: "Whatever for, they don't taste at all good".

Thanks for the upside to Brit cooking - nice looking prime rib there.
