TOP REASONS TO VOTE DEMOCRAT
Well gang, here is my retort... feel free to add any you feel to be relevant.
TOP XXX REASONS TO VOTE DEMOCRAT (a work in progress, indeed)
1. You believe that an at least three-fold increase in your family's tax burden is a reasonable sacrifice to establish a nationalized healthcare program.
2. You believe that only the rich get tax breaks, but you aren't one of the top 50% of wage earners who pay 96+% of all the tax revenue collected in this country
3. You believe that budget surpluses can actually be projected 10 years out, with pinpoint accuracy
4. you are a woman, and want abortion kept legal, because you and your partner couldn't exhibit personal responsibility because you got "caught up in the moment"
5. you adore barbra streisand, the entertainer, because her and the rest of hollywood really know what its like to work an honest 8-hour day
6. you believe that marijuana should be decriminalized, because there are no known ill-effects from using the drug on a regular basis.
7. you are a trial lawyer, and believe that doctors don't pay nearly enough for malpractice insurance. you also believe that guns can pull their own triggers because smith and wesson designed them that way.
8. you beleive that the military actions in somalia and kosovo were the liberation of a nation from a repressive system, yet ousting a middle eastern tyrant is unilateral imperialism.
9. you don't mind giving money to small internet startups who undercapitalize themselves and file for federal bankruptcy protection when they violate their debt covenants.
10. you beleive that democratic party deserves contributions from the trial lawyers and labor unions. you don't mind being held liable in frivolous lawsuits that lack merit. You also don't mind seeing your 50 year old father work twice as hard as a lazy ass 25 year old, and get the same raise.
11. You believe that your party and its attorneys are right to challenge elections. I mean, come on, who would EVER vote anything but democrat?
12. you don't mind tripling the funding for education. you also don't mind that your children's teachers aren't held accountable when 60% of their class fails state reading assessments.
13. you like howard dean's rhetoric regarding national security. you believe that we as americans should have thought what we did to provoke the attacks of 9/11.
