The DuPage County Treasurer is charged with custody and distribution of County money. The Treasurer pays the bills of the County and various other governmental bodies. T he Treasurer is the County Collector of taxes.More than $1.6 billion is placed under the Treasurer’s responsibility each year. All public and private funds are immediately deposited in more than 50 local financial institutions and invested in certificates of deposit and securities guaranteed by the full faith and credit of the United States of America.

Overview of the State Treasurer's Office Our mission is threefold: to carry out the mandates of the law as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible; to provide prompt, courteous service to all those we serve – the public, State employees and members of the retirement systems; and to manage the cash balances and trust funds under the custody of the State Treasurer in keeping with the highest fiduciary standards in order to maximize investment income without undue risk. The market value of the state's fund was approximately $73 million as of June 30, 1995, compared with $60 million as of June 30, 1994. The system paid $1.8 million in retirement benefits duringfiscal year 1995.
