Ahead of the midterm elections, billionaire Elon Musk warned that a Democratic sweep of the White House and Congress in 2028 could spell the "end of democracy," outlining three moves he fears the party would make to cement its political power.
The stark warning comes as Musk pours money into Republican campaigns, arguing that maintaining GOP control of the Senate is essential to preventing what he described as a "permanent one-party state."
Musk outlined his three "biggest" concerns about Democrats gaining unified control of Washington, in an X post, warning that the party would move to grant statehood to Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, legalize immigrants living in the country illegally and expand the Supreme Court.
"My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028," Musk wrote, listing three top scenarios he fears.
Musk argued that granting statehood to Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico would help Democrats gain a strong Senate majority, while opening the borders and legalizing immigrants in the country illegally would help the party cement a lasting electoral advantage.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO argued that Republicans need to hold at least 51 Senate seats following the 2028 elections to prevent those outcomes, making an urgent appeal to voters ahead of the midterms.
"That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election," Musk wrote. "Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one."
The Senate is still a toss-up with six states to decide the majority, according to Fox News Power Rankings. The best outcome predicted for the Democrats is that their ceiling rises to 54 seats and for Republicans, they could see them retain control with up to 52 seats.

Um, did he accidentally mess up the scheduled post time?
2026 isn’t over yet - I don’t have high hopes, but a lot more people hear and listen to Elon than me ;-).
Let’s wait until at least Wednesday before we start fretting about 2028, mKay?
According to AI, at least 18 states that Trump won in 2024 and three major purple swing states—North Carolina, Michigan, and Wisconsin—have in-person early voting available on Halloween, October 31, 2026, though hours and availability vary by location.
Of the 3 the packing of the ussc is the most dangerous
A leftist majority would rubberstamp everything a leftist congress passed as constitutional
Thomas Massie offered a response...
“What’s coming was avoidable, but Republicans in Congress let Trump start a war, increase spending, arm a genocide, betray MAHA...”

‘End of democracy’
That would be the start of Civil War II, our country has been rotting away for decades but don’t think our republic is going to have an internecine war anytime soon.
We do need to bust up the Uniparty though, what a colossal, rotting mess.

Musk warned that Dems in power would:

Musk is somebody you ignore at your own risk.
Far be it from me to contradict Elon Musk, but the Democrats have been talking about doing those things since the Obama administration, and they haven’t done so yet. Even though they had the Presidency and both houses of Congress for two years during Obama, and for two years during Biden.
Why they didn’t do any of them is a mystery to me. But they didn’t.
I’m not saying those aren’t serious threats. But for some reason they’ve refrained from doing them so far.
The Overton Window wasn’t fully open then, it is now …
Exactly!
What an a$$! How long have we been money laundering cash in Ukraine at this point? We need to drop them, they are of no good to the US.
Until we stop messing with Ukraine, I don’t want to hear a peep about Iran. Massie is angry because his cash cow is drying up.

Maybe because the real socialists/communists weren’t driving the boat at that time?
I don’t think Musk knows what he is talking about.
The changes he is afraid of would guarantee the CONTINUATION of Democracy…one of the most evil plagues to ever befall mankind.
If we wish to save the world, we need to fight against democracy….the god that failed.
The same people who said nothing (or cheered) as the only good Republican in Congress was being primaried by the Israel lobby, will be complaining how Republicans aren’t conservative enough when we are in the minority.
It’s always the same story. When we are in the majority these idiots sit on their hands, bury their head in the sand and stand by as the Republicans do the most corrupt, big government, America last things. Then they act surprised when we lose and they start to complain about “RINOs” again. It’s like clockwork.
“I’m not saying those aren’t serious threats. But for some reason they’ve refrained from doing them so far.”
They’re afraid of the sleeping giant who will be filled with terrible resolve.
It should be good for the gun industry in the short term.
They are not restrained now.

I was afraid the Democrats were going to do this after their successful 2020 coup. Fortunately two Democrats refused to kill the Filabuster.I wonder how many Americans realized just how close we came to losing it all?
