Can Republicans Hold the Senate? They Need These Voters.

The battle for control of the Senate will be determined in just a handful of key states. Many are traditionally Republican strongholds that Donald J. Trump carried by more than 10 percentage points in 2024.

To win these states, Republicans mostly need to hold onto support from voters who have traditionally supported them. The party also hopes to maintain at least some of the gains it made in 2024 among groups that were previously seen as reliably Democratic.

Democrats are competitive largely because of President Trump’s sinking popularity. Many of the groups that swung right two years ago — such as younger voters and Latinos — appear to be poised to lurch back to the left in these midterm elections, according to data from Times Voter Trends and recent polls of likely voters in battleground states. Meanwhile, blue-collar white voters, who have been stalwarts of the Republican base for the past decade, are showing signs of waning support.

Here are the key voting groups to watch in the most competitive Senate races: Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Ohio and Texas.

White voters without college degrees

This group of voters has been an essential part of the Republican base during the Trump era. But in all but one of the top battlegrounds, the Republican Senate candidate has been running behind Mr. Trump’s 2024 margin of victory.

This trend is significant because there are so many of these voters. In every Senate battleground except Texas and Alaska, white voters without college degrees make up a majority of voters.

That means that even small shifts in this demographic are consequential. Recent polling suggests that Republicans have lost support from this group by double digits.

Phenomenal day of early voting for Florida Republicans. Lead has surged out to 115k over Democrats for in person and mail voting. For context in past two midterms, Democrats led by 25k in 2018 and Republicans led by 315k for DeSantis’s 2022 landslide.— Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) October 30, 2026

On Tuesday night, the Republican Party will shock the world with wide margins of victory from coast to coast, all the battleground states and even democrat strongholds.

That’s plus 7. Ridiculous. Earlier you said in June it was plus 8. And today you said plus 6.

Do you work for a polling firm?

Please enlighten us of the 7 flips .

i have a friend who lives in Austin, Texas i spoke with this evening... He’s more moderate than conservative though he’s turning more and more conservative....he hated Trump for backing Paxton over Cornyn, as he hates Paxton...

I asked him, “did you vote for Talerico?” His response, “I would never vote for that freak” then went on to tell me all about Talefreako...

He told me the people he speaks with in Austin are split but he believes Texans are voting in droves early (as he did) to purposely vote against Talerico...

This guy is by no means a hardcore conservative but believes talerico stands no chance...

As Jean-Luc would say, “Make it so”.

My only doubt is whether enough R voters will understand that this is just as important as voting for Trump in 2024 was. Let’s hope they remember we elected him for four years, not two.

It’s more than doable. It’s the house. Think history. Think local politics. So voters are worried about the price of gas. Biden’s the one that stopped the Keystone pipeline first thing. ANWR. They want windmills and solar farms. If the locals really think the rats really want lower gas prices that means they want more consumption. Our guys need to cut the crap. Where’s the fight?

Houses is gone.
Very slim hold on Senate.

The GOP has some really poor candidates running this election cycle. Plus the high cost of living is not helping.

And like it or not, Trump bit off more than he could chew with Iran. But it needed to be done. Battles never go the way you plan.

Its one thing seeing commies vote for commies thats automatic, but seeing Republicans either stay home(Which means they are voting for Dems by staying home) or even voting for Dems as what, payback for Trump not keeping all of his promises, yeah I agree, he screwed up on some things, such as the war with Iran(Either you go to war to finish it or dont bother doing it at all) or how he handled the Epstein files, OK I agree, he screwed up, so for payback what are Republicans gonna do, give power to Dems who will open the border, import 100 MILLION illegals into this country, give EVERYONE citizenship and have full control over our country for the next 50+ yrs, we will be a ONE party rule country, is that what they want..do they want the end of private insurance, are they cool with waiting TWO YEARS to see a doctor, because hey ya know the illegals will have top priority, so you will have to wait to see a doc, sorry thats just a fact! So I dont get it, instead of punishing Trump they are going to punish THEMSELVES is that what they are willing to do because Dems will NEVER lower the price of gas, there wont be anymore gas, you will have to buy an electric car PERIOD..Dems want gas gone, that is why they wont say how they will lower the cost because they arent planning on doing anything except saying “Hey you can trade in your car and get electric” and BAM no more gas..so again, is that what people want? I live in Commiefornia, here is a lost cause, seriously considering moving to Florida, so here in CA doeset matter if a Dem is in power or a Republican, here you dont notice jack, but for the rest of you, I really wish that everyone would just wake up and see what they are about to do and do something about it!

Very slim hold on Senate.

We just need 51. Hopefully, Collins will hold on in Maine. And Rogers will win in Michigan.

Regardless of whether or not he is right, he believes we need Tucker Carlson as President to “renew America” as he has posted repeatedly on this forum. That is indicative of his values.

Payback for Trump not keeping all of his promises

He pretty much did keep them all - and kept them all immediately. The BBB contained virtually all of his domestic agenda he promised alone. He sealed the borders - with tremendous success - literally night and day - pushed through more funding to keep it secure through Congress. Crime rates have plummeted.

The thing he did wrong was overpromise on how quickly the damage done by Biden and the Democrats could be reversed. We are years behind on many things and you can't speed up the hands of time or make up for the lost time when you have to literally start some things all over that were stopped in their tracks. Those things are numerous - the Keystone Pipeline, for example, is probably permanently gone - what contractors are going to want to stick their necks out again if the people were to just elect another President in 4 years and leave them holding the bag again? So many other examples. Tremendous progress (but still much to do) in getting the woke out of our institutions that has been rotting our culture - I guess those who say "stay at home" want to start that all over again - but at some point you reach a critical low point and then you *can't* fix it as you are then in the permanent minority - the freaks will be the normals and the normals will be the freaks.

And there are still people saying there is, and has been, no difference. Someone on another thread stated that it would not make a difference if the Democrats take control of the Senate if there was a SCOTUS vacancy as the GOP Senate would block it just like a Dem controlled Senate, so there is no reason to bother. They actually said that. They're nuts.

And you can go back further than just the Keystone Pipeline and what Democrats have done we are still dealing with - they did a lot more than that during the Biden and Obama administrations alone in stifling innovation and putting things online that needed to be - and things that were started under Trump that were halted again by Biden - so we had to start all over again. So that is collectively 16 years behind where we would be just due to those 2 Dem administrations alone. But we can go back further to the 2000s - Dems blocked / filibustered during the Bush years refineries, new drilling, etc. - their rationale was that it would not help because it would “take years” to get those things online...we are now 20+ years later...those “years” have come and gone multiple times - they’d have been online long ago.
Then go back to Clinton - numerous things to block increasing our energy production including declaring large coal deposits in Utah to be a national monument as just one example.
And of course, Carter and allowing the Shah of Iran to fall in 1979, leading to what we are dealing with now.

We are, in 2026, dealing with the consequences of Democrats being elected from decades ago, multiple times over. And they campaign on the consequences of their own actions, blaming it on Republicans, to try to win again and cause more problems we’ll still be dealing with 20+ years from now if they win.

If I were a billionaire, I would have been running 2 minute TV ads nationwide explaining this...but alas, I am not...

the Low info voters(which are the majority of both sides) do not know or care about the facts you have spoken

the D’s have successfully brainwashed the masses that they fix things, but it only ever shows up when an R is president, and they ruin things, which only ever shows up under the D.
