David Jolly, a former Republican congressman who is now running as a Democrat against U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds to replace Ron DeSantis as Florida governor, is raising eyebrows in the Sunshine State with his suggestion that boys have a constitutional right to play on girls’ sports teams.
His comments came during the “To the Contrary” podcast Charlie Sykes last year, and were unearthed Wednesday by Libs of TikTok.

Sykes had asked Jolly outright: “How do you navigate that issue?”
“I fundamentally think it’s an issue for the courts,” the Democrat replied. “And I don’t think one rule should apply to everything.”
“I think some latitude among the sports leagues to make decisions, but ultimately, it’s a constitutional question that the courts are gonna have to decide.”
Jolly continued: “I think where I fundamentally diverge from Republicans on this issue is you can immediately see where leaders and voters are either working in good faith towards equity or in bad faith against it. This is a new and novel moment for us as a country.
“It’s OK to wrestle with it. But you’re either wrestling to resolve it on behalf of all Americans, their fundamental and constitutional rights, their respect and their dignity, or you’re working to humiliate them. And I think it’s pretty disgusting what we’ve seen from Republicans in the past several years on this.
“I don’t think we need to knock down that youth soccer player who is working with their family and their doctor on whatever their current crisis is personally. I think it can be supportive of them to allow them to play in youth sports.
“If it’s a question of Olympic trials, obviously I think you get too far down the road there saying, Maybe it’s a bridge too far to let trains athletes in certain sports, but let’s leave it to the sports leagues.”
Donalds is a staunch opponent of biological males competing in girls’ or women’s sports, and his campaign posted video Wednesday of the Republican blasting Jolly’s stance.
“My opponent’s somebody who says it’s OK for boys to be in girls’ sports. It’s just him and the WNBA,” Donalds said.
“They’re the only two that think this is OK. Everybody else has said, ‘No, that’s actually quite stupid.’ Even the Europeans are realizing that’s dumb. But this is where the radical Democrats have gone in America today, and it’s sad to see.”

I have it on good authority from our local morning conservative talk show guy that although a bit closer than we’d like, this jolly clown is about to be relegated to nothing more than a forgettable footnote in Florida political history.

When the people have recognized their lies this the take; bad people, only the most activist judge can be trusted.
When they cheat or scam a win then it’s all “people’s mandate.”
In the not-pretending world there’s a place for whatever people. It’s called “intermural” sports. That’s not what they want. They want to perv and bully and exert power over the unwilling; that’s the beginning and end of the Democrat party (and of muhammedism, but that’s redundant).
Sounds like Jolly couldn’t make the boys team.

Just a thought but they allow girls in all the boys groups like little league baseball and peewee football why shouldn’t the boys play in theirs, outside the obvious that it grooms them to be a tranny. The have also had girls on some high school football teams (usually a kicker).
I remember something about a constitutional right to keep and bear arms. I’m searching for the sports participation Amendment. For the life of me I simply can’t imagine that the founding fathers could possibly overlook something so fundamental.
I have NEVER heard even ONE liberal tell me why we should even have separate sports teams for girls.
If they could explain that, we could solve this issue instantly.
Because there are only two possible choices.
Either girls are biologically physically inferior to boys and that justifies them have their own separate sports teams.
OR
Boys and Girls are biologically physically the same and having separate teams for girls is no different than racial segregation.
It has to be one or the other. Choose either and we can fix all these issues instantly.
Choose 1 and mentally ill men who “think” they are the wrong sex can not play in womens sports because they have a biological physical advantage, which is the whole reason girls have separate sports to begin with.
Choose 2 and all sports become co-ed and it doesn’t matter then if some mentally ill man that thinks he is a woman plays.

David Jolly: Where does it say that MENTALLY ILL BOYS can compete in girl’s sports in the Constitution? I’m looking for it? Who put it in the Constitution? Was it Thomas Jefferson? Ben Franklin? Who and where is it, you TDS MORON?
David Jolly is DEI insane and belongs in a padded room in a loony bin, not in the governor’s mansion.
Most states, I think, allow players of the opposite sex when there is no alternative. Thus, if there is no softball team, girls can play baseball. Same for football.
I have also heard of a male playing girl’s field hockey because there was no boy’s team.
Personally, as kids reach puberty and their teen years, I believe it becomes a very real danger to the girls in some sports, and certainly damages thee ability to excel on what was supposed to be a level playing field.
