Trump blasted the players during a Thursday campaign rally in Iowa, warning that the women’s basketball league could destroy its growing popularity by disrespecting the American flag.
“What’s going on with the women’s NBA? What’s that all about?” Trump asked, according to Yahoo Sports.
“They’ll destroy themselves before they get started because they just started to do good,” the president said The controversy erupted after players from the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries left the court before the national anthem during the WNBA Finals.
“It’s a big deal going on. They leave the court when the national anthem’s playing. What’s that all about?” Trump asked.
The president compared the controversy to the NFL’s national anthem protests, which sparked widespread outrage among football fans.
“The NFL did that for a while and they stopped because people stopped watching the games,” Trump said. “So I think you should do the same thing with women’s basketball.”
Vice President JD Vance also condemned the players.
“I think it’s disgraceful,” Vance said, according to Fox News.
“They have a lot to be grateful to the United States for,” Vance added.

LOLZ! 99.9% of the nation is already boycotting the WNBA! What more does Trump want?
There needs to be a call to do that?
Ratings are terrible for them anyway.
I’m trying to figure out what less I could do.
The only reason ESPN broadcasts the WNBA games and advertisers place commercials on these games is their adherence to political correctness. The executives will take a financial hit for the “cause”, figuring NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and college football and basketball broadcasts will offset their WNBA losses.
I have no interest in watching a bunch of racist black lesbians knocking White girls to the floor.
Must be a shortage of news that matters today.
Trump just increased them. The Streisand Effect.
And not the ones in the movies.
Most of the nation would have to watch a game before they could boycott.
I can only stop watching once.
If you read what he said it was totally legitimate and warranted. As the President of the United States he has a right to comment on public figures disrespecting our flag or our anthem. It's a slippery slope when you let those things happen without comment. Arguably we've been sliding down that slope for quite a while now. That's why so many people think back fondly of what Rick Monday did to save the American flag in center field.
President Trump has been laser focused on the very important issues, and unlike the political bottom feeders whose only guiding principle is which way the wind blows, he stands up for what he believes.
Maybe you should be laser focused on how to use a computer.
Just because you’re completely one dimensional, and can’t chew gum and walk at the same time, it doesn’t mean everybody else including the President has to be mentally limited just like you.
And thank goodness for that.
He is an expert multitasker Mahmood….. relax. With communism/socialism on the midterm agenda , seems like a perfect way of display how mainstream anti americanism is and lacking common sense has gotten to be.
