Leaked audio reveals how important the Michigan Senate race has become as a major testing ground for national strategy - and even the 2028 presidential race.
Introducing Democratic socialist El–Sayed at a private New York City fundraiser, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio–Cortez explicitly raised the stakes for the midterm election on leaked tape first obtained by Politico.
'If Abdul can win in Michigan, anybody can win anywhere,' Ocasio–Cortez said, framing a victory as a necessary catalyst for systemic change.
'We are going to break the electoral map everywhere, everywhere, because that is what it is going to take to guarantee health care to every American.'
El–Sayed, a former public health official, holds a slight polling lead over Republican contender Mike Rogers in a state Democrats must win to flip or control the Senate.
The endorsement underscores AOC's rising influence as a key progressive kingmaker, coming as she eyes her own 2028 presidential run.
Vice President JD Vance said in late June that he believes Ocasio-Cortez will be the leading Democratic presidential candidate in 2028.
Her audio recording also sheds light on the massive financial undertaking in one make or break race come November.
El–Sayed alerted the audience at the gathering in New York City that the total spending in this key Senate race could reach roughly $200 million.
Highlighting the potential ripple effect on the party's future presidential hopefuls, candidate Abdul El–Sayed told attendees, 'I've talked to a lot of them,' before challenging conventional wisdom: 'And what does it say about what America really wants, needs and deserves if our state bucks all of the pundits and all of the pontificators who think that this is not possible?'
During a Monday afternoon Fox News appearance, the left–wing Michigan Senate candidate traded barbs with host Martha MacCallum over counterterrorism and foreign intervention.

AOC , “Death To Michigan” ?
Ha haaaaaas! The Jihadi Hobbit needs help from a woman!
My, how far we have fallen but nothing new under the sun.
A THIEVING BARTENDER-—JUST GREAT !!!!!!!!
She’s a sick joke. But the joke will be on all of us if she’s ever elected president.
Another Freeper (can’t remember who), has said more than once that it would be very foolish to underestimate AOC, because for all her numerous shortfalls, she still has several very important things going for her. The first of those is that, especially to the up-and-coming cohort of younger voters, she is quite popular and well-liked. Enough so that they’re either willing to look past her flaws, or indeed, not even see them to begin with. The second is that, when she has the proper handler(s) and just the right script, she is forceful and charismatic enough to get her point across very well.
She may not be able to logically argue her way out of a paper bag, but those, who support her either don’t care about that, or put it down to her not being treated “fairly” by her critics.
RE: ‘If Abdul can win in Michigan, anybody can win anywhere,’ Ocasio–Cortez said...
So Frank Sinatra might have sung “If Abdul can fool the infidels there, he can fool us anywhere, it’s up to you to stop el-Sayed now.”
Kamala is "cringe" but AOC is not.
But AOC is getting older so that'll change.

Sad but true.
She should get one of those tight fitting T-shirts that says, “I wish these were brains.“
