Education Secretary Linda McMahon on Monday formally rescinded the Biden administration's Title IX regulations expanding sex-discrimination protection to include gender identity and sexual orientation.
The move restores rules adopted during President Donald Trump's first term.
The final regulation, expected to be published Tuesday, removes the Biden-era rule from the federal regulatory code after a federal court struck it down and reinstates the Trump administration's 2020 framework governing how schools handle sexual-misconduct allegations.
The move "clears the Biden Administration's illegal rewrite of Title IX" and restores the previous rule's language, McMahon said in a statement.
"Thanks to today's action, the published Title IX regulations faithfully reflect court orders and Congressional intent — reducing confusion for parents, students, and educational institutions," she said, The Hill reported.

I’m pretty sure that it is illegal (and an impeachable offense) for Trump to repeal a Biden rule. No doubt a Federal judge with a name I cannot pronounce will so rule.
Look at the monstrosity called the Department of “Education:”

For those wondering why this wasn't done earlier, there are certain administrative steps that have to happen before a rule can be formally instituted or repealed, including a mandatory statutory "notice and comment" period. Can't be done overnight.
