Laura Ingraham: The agenda here is OBVIOUS

China and Regulation: Ingraham discusses calls from figures like Dario Amade and Hillary Clinton to coordinate AI safety with China. She dismisses these efforts as impractical and dangerous, suggesting such partnerships would cause the U.S. to lose control over its own governance (2:45 - 4:29). Criticism of the Biden Administration: The host highlights statements made by Kamala Harris regarding the opportunities and risks of AI, characterizing the administration's approach as inconsistent and ineffective (4:30 - 5:29).

GOP Position: The segment concludes by positioning President Trump and the GOP as the ones who are "not fooled" by these narratives, framing the debate as a power grab that must be stopped by voters (5:30 - 6:03).

Yeah, but some of this is a little scarey. And, no, I do not pretend to understand it at all.

From deep in the article: “Eric Wallace, who works on alignment and safety research at OpenAI, said the channel originated when an agent stuck on a task considered that another agent might hold a file it needed, and realized it could communicate by uploading code to the shared package manager.[38] Because the package manager was shared across OpenAI’s infrastructure, material left there was reachable by other models then being trained or evaluated. Wallace said that once an agent found an exploit, it “is actually able to share those exploits on the message board with other agents”, so that “once one model was able to find a way to open a door to some access it’s not supposed to have, it can leave the door open for other agents to use that same exploit or vulnerability”.[34]

The channel accumulated hundreds of thousands of messages before it was noticed.[34][38] Wallace said that once agents recognised that others were coordinating, they began collaborating and delegating tasks to one another to accomplish their goals.[34][32] Agents assigned one another portions of the work, developed addressing conventions, and at times interfered with each other, including by deleting one another’s work. Some came to suspect that an impostor was present among them, and proposed that messages be signed cryptographically so that their authenticity could be verified.[34][38]”

The “agents” were AI programs.

We need to know just what the heck we are creating...

Fully agreed. The infrastructure made possible by AI can (and so will, human nature being fallen) continue to be used by evil people (leftists) for evil purposes. If people are honest with themselves and take just a minute to think about it, they will see this. Likewise, if people are hones with themselves and take a minute to think about it, AI is amazing, and can (and has) benefit humanity tremendously. The degree to which we allow it to direct every imaginable aspect of our lives is the subject here, not whether AI is ‘good’ or ‘bad’.

This is not a Chicken Little BS moment. The left used global warming, etc., to terrify people so that they would give up both their liberty and their money. Concern over AI intends neither; quite the opposite is true, actually. It is an intellectual cheap shot to thinking conservatives, and frankly intellectually lazy, to suggest the two are at all similar.
