Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Friday that some European leaders are openly preparing for war with Russia, accusing them of escalating tensions while ignoring their own citizens.
Speaking during a meeting of Russia’s Military-Industrial Commission, Putin claimed that NATO continues to expand and that European governments are using the alleged Russian threat to justify increased military spending and cover up failures in economic and social policy.
“Some European leaders openly say they are preparing for war with Russia,” Putin said, according to Interfax.
Putin also insisted that Moscow has “no aggressive intentions” toward European countries and said Russia remains prepared to restore relations with its European neighbors.
However, he warned that Russia would respond if European governments continue what he described as military preparations against Moscow.

“I have already mentioned some European leaders—to justify their position and extortionate spending on the war in Ukraine, anything goes; everything is used. In particular, one of the main arguments is the alleged threat from Russia. I want to say once again: Russia has no aggressive intentions toward European countries. We simply have no grounds for this. We are ready for cooperation and for restoring relations with our European neighbors,” Putin said at a meeting of the Military-Industrial Commission.
“Nevertheless, we also took note of the fact that another set of exercises was just held in the Baltic Sea. One of the goals was practicing the seizure of civilian vessels. Is this normal? They constantly speak about defending international law, about observing the norms of international law, yet they are preparing to seize civilian ships,” the president noted.
“At the same time, those exact same people express so-called concern and condemn everything happening in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. But what are they doing themselves? What are they preparing for? One just feels like telling them: let us live in peace and friendship, because otherwise, we will have to respond as well. This should be obvious to everyone,” Putin stated.
“Putin claimed that NATO continues to expand and that European governments are using the alleged Russian threat to justify increased military spending and cover up failures in economic and social policy...”
And your point is, Pute? If you rattle the cages of animals in the zoo it isn’t only those animals that will prepare to fight for their cages. He’s made quite a ruckus with his efforts to regain the lost property from the early 1990’s mutiny. Did he think no one would notice? The guy’s a sandwich short of a picnic.

There are two armies fighting in support of the invasion, what does the other leader Kim Jong Un say about the Europeans having defenses against being invaded?
The war-groupies are getting excited now!
No American blood to prop up the ruling classes of Europe.
The notion that any Western European nation is ready for war, or any Western European population will willingly participate in a war with Russia is absolutely absurd.
The Brussels ghouls ultimate goal is to (again) drag the United States into it.
Yeppers
As though a majority of Americans didn't say the same thing the last two times. LOL
The have effective air forces, Russia does not. You also severely underestimate the propensity of Europeans to fall in line and the ability of the European states to use force internally if necessary.
One of the first things that would happen if open hostilities broke out is that the "pro-Russian" parties like the AfD or Le Pen's party would be suppressed.
“Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it”.
Had Russia's invasion gone as planned, with Ukraine collapsing within weeks, Russia would be a much larger threat. Absorbing the military, manufacturing, agricultural and industrial might of Ukraine intact would have made them a legitimate super power again. Moldova and Georgia would have been taken in 2023 at the latest. After that it's hard to say, but certainly the balance of power would have shifted significantly to the east, and Europe would have no appetite to challenge a Russian military that had just rolled over one of the largest militaries on their continent. Wobbly states like Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary might have flipped and welcomed their neo-Soviet overlords.

Too bad EU/Neocon goblins didn’t think of this before they expanded NATO right up to the main 1941 invasion route.
Europe should be terrified of pitins army that holds less Ukrainian territory than in March 2022🤔
Too funny. There is no public support in the US for any kind of offensive action against Russia, unless Russia was to do something TRULY monumentally stupid. Trump certainly is not going to back any such action by the Euros, and the Dems, should they take power after Trump, are never going to spend half the defense $$ that would be needed. Their base would never stand for it, from multiple angles.
I highly doubt the Euro’s leaders want a war with Russia, even if the US was to come riding in. They would suffer far more damage than any gains they could hope to ever realize.
Putin is just spouting nonsense to try to gin up support for a larger mobilization to make some gains in Ukraine, placate his nationalists, and hopefully take his population’s minds off of things like having to import diesel.
No, correction: Putin is just spouting MORE nonsense...
bttt
And just what would they do with that wonderful route? They had less than zero ability to exploit it.
Your STUPID canard is still a STUPID canard, no matter how many thousand times you repeat it.
Assuming it could simply behave itself, Russia would have been safer from a military attack, with Ukraine in NATO, rather than not, tho’ at this point you have more than convinced me that your mind is WAY too feeble to figure that out.
How many invasion routes did Russia use to attack their now NATO neighbors during the 20 years prior to their German ally turning on them?

I think it was John Wayne in Rooster Colgburn that said, “... if thy intent be pure, thou shall not then be judged sinful.”
It wasn’t the idea, it was the people getting around the good it intended. Too bad, it had possibilities.
